When the Holy Spirit calls the shots!

We might study and practice and obsess about the day that we minister for the Lord and because He is faithful we will do just fine in that ministry.  But who wants to do just fine?  If we speak to anyone who has had extreme soul winning ministry they will tell us that the turning point of their experience was when they learned how to invite the Holy Spirit into the midst of that work. Who is the Holy Spirit?  He is the third person of the Holy Trinity (The Father, the Son and The Holy Spirit).  After Jesus was crucified and resurrected and came to the disciples He said that He would go to be with His Father but He would leave His Holy Spirit to be our Comforter.  The Holy Spirit (or Holy Ghost) has one job and that is to lead any who ask to Christ. He brings the revelation of the word to our lives.

Any talented person can perform for the crowd and bring down the house, but when all is said and done who does the audience or congregation take home with them?  Us or the Lord?  This is where the secret to success lies.  It does not matter what Christian denomination we are, if our ministries are small or large or if we have financial support or not.  God is no respecter of persons and neither is His Spirit.  His Spirit is the extension of His love.  So doesn’t it make perfect sense that to be successful soul winners in ministry we must let the Holy Spirit work within our work?  How do we get the Holy Spirit to visit our services or events?  One word…ASK!

Provide an atmosphere of praise and worship unto the Lord, ask the Holy Spirit to come and he will come. The Lord inhabits the praises of His people. All we have to do is wait for him to move.  It has been witnessed that a person with the least talent can bring people to their knees in tears with a warbled song when the Holy Spirit is in it.  When the drawing is there it is what brings fire to a cold gathering.  It is up to us to learn how to wait upon the Lord through His spirit and allow Him to work. We are but instruments in His plan.  If we want the most out of our potential, we must take on a partner…The Holy Spirit. We will have the greatest testaments to our ministries through the souls that are touched through them.  Isn’t that why we do what we do?  Let the Holy Spirit call the shots!
